Abstract

More than a decade after graduating from the University of Michigan Law School, I was invited to return as a visiting professor. Having grown up just outside of Ann Arbor, I looked forward to coming home. As someone who had loved the first year of law school, I resolved to make a s much as possible of the opportunities on the other side of the podium. In that endeavor, I discovered how a teacher must be a student to be effective.
